Audience feedback on rough cut

Our audience didn't like the exclusively studio based video and most got bored as there was no narrative to grip the audience. One thing that came out of most of the feedback was that there was not enough shot variants as there were only really four different view points. This made the video feel restricted. We were told that to improve it we would have to add more camera shots and a narrative to keep the views interested. Another thing that was pointed out was that all of the transitions were normal cuts which was something that could be improved on. This means that we will have to come up with more shots. The final piece will include some form of datamoshing but i could explore invisible edits or jump cuts to make our shot transitions more varied. It was said that the green screen was not accurate enough and was cutting into the character. Being a rough cut, i didn't spend as much time making the green screen edges clean which is something that i will do to make the video look more professional.

This is another piece of feedback that i got over Skype. This, i felt was better than the survey that i did because I was able to ask follow up questions and ask him to explain it more. This helped me get a better idea of what I had to do without having to read into what people had written on the questionnaire.

Rough Cut

This is our Music video rough cut. We learnt a lot from the making of the rough cut. Originally we were going to have an exclusively studio based music video but after making the rough cut we realised that it was not possible. Unfortunately it has been blocked on blogger but is still viewable on youtube.
